Being Gay is not a Choice
Nothing bothers me more than people who believe that being LGBT is a choice. The only choice we make is the choice to be brave enough to be true to ourselves. No I did not choose to be mocked, ridiculed, laughed at, teased, or talked about. I did not choose to go through hell when I came out to my family and parents. I did not choose to fight for equal marriage rights. I did not choose to be careful of where I vacation because they may not be okay with homosexuality. I did not choose to be different, the minority, and someone that needs to think before holding my girlfriend’s hand in public. Do not tell me ever again that I chose to be gay. I am proud of who I am and I wouldn’t have it any other way, but it what I went through to be me… I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. Nobody would choose that.
